In most cases, no. The fine chains used in permanent jewelry are too small and lightweight to trigger standard airport metal detectors. Most of our clients travel regularly without any issues. However, every security setup is different, and there's always a small possibility it could trigger a more sensitive scanner.

If you need an MRI, you'll need to remove your permanent jewelry beforehand. Simply cut the chain with scissors — it takes 2 seconds and is painless. Save the chain and bring it back to us and we'll re-weld it after your procedure.

Yes — we offer sterling silver and gold filled options, both of which are hypoallergenic and safe for most sensitive skin types. We do not use nickel-based alloys. If you have a specific metal allergy, let us know and we'll recommend the best option for you.
